Digital
audio interfacing:

AX24 can interface directly to the Digidesign®
ProTools|HD® system via the DAD HD I/O interface
box.
DAD HD I/O features two Digi links and two MADI
I/O's for a total of 64 channels @ 96kHz or
32 channels
@ 192 kHz. Within ProTools® the DAD HD I/O
interface box shows itself as two Digidesign®
digital 192
I/O boxes.
With a MADI I/O cards mounted
in the AX24’s multiply AX24’s can
be daisy chained into one MADI link.
One MADI link can be used for 64 channels @
48kHz, 32 channels @ 96kHz and 16 channels
@ 192kHz audio.
Coax based MADI can be transferred
at a distance of approx. 100 meter and optical
based MADI can be
transferred for a distance of more than 1 km.
For optical MADI connection between the stage
and the
control room two DAD HD I/O interface boxes
are needed, since the MADI card at the AX24
analog/digital
front end is coax based MADI.
The internal clock circuit at
AX24 is more precise than most clock devices.
We therefore recommend to
use one of the AX24 as Word Clock master for
the whole synchronization.
It is possible to daisy chain
the Word Clock between multiply AX24’s
however if more than 3 units AX24
has to be synchronized together we recommend
to use a Word Clock distribution amplifier for
Word Clock
distribution.
Digital Audio interfacing
with Digidesign 192 Digital I/O , 192 I/O, and
96 I/O:

AX24 can also interface directly
to Digidesign 192 Digital I/O , Digidesign 192
I/O and Digidesign 96 I/O
via AES/EBU. A total of 16channels @ 96kHz can
be connected to one Digidesign 192 Digital I/O
via
AES/EBU. AES/EBU can be transferred at a distance
of approx. 100 meter.
It is possible to use the additional
legacy port at Digidesign 192 Digital I/O, Digidesign
192 I/O and
Digidesign if one AX24 is mounted with a DADIO
PT Mix24 I/O however only at sample rates up
to 48kHz.
Like for ProTools the AX24 AES/EBU
interface is single wire @ 96kHz and dual wire
@ 192kHz. the AX24
has a maximum sample rate @ 192kHz or more,
the AES/EBU I/O features two 25 pin D-Sub connectors
for 8 ch. AES/EBU I/O @ 192kHz.
