DAD-I/O modules

The AX24, Axion, ADDA 2408 and ADDA 2408-r use DAD-I/O
modules to provide a variety
of different digital interfaces for connecting multi
channel digital audio signals.
The DAD-I/O modules connects to the A/D, D/A and D/D
converters inside the AX24, Axion, ADDA 2408 and ADDA
2408-r through the internal DADBus interface.

4
channel D/A converter:
The
4 channel D/A converter module is able to output
4 balanced
analog channels at line level. The maximum output
level is adjustable
between +12dB and +27 dB.
Up to two modules can be installed in the AX24,
Axion, ADDA 2408
and ADDA 2408-r giving a total of 8 D/A channels.
The 4 channel D/A converter
module is available in two versions. One capable
of PCM
sample rates up-to 96 kHz for use in the ADDA2408
products. The other D/A module is
capable of the PCM sample rates up-to 192 kHz,
DSD and DXD. This module only oprates
in Axion and AX24.
When installed in the ADDA 2408
the 2 monitor D/A channels of the can be combined
with
4 channels of one D/A converter module for 6
channel surround monitoring.

Dual
AES3-S/PDIF digital I/O:
The
Dual AES3-S/PDIF I/O module is a 2-channel (stereo)
module intended
for interfacing stereo input and output channels
of the AX24, ADDA 2408,
ADDA 2408-r and Axion.
The connection is made via XLR, optical S/PDIF
and Coax RCA connectors.
The Dual AES3-S/PDIF I/O module is able to interface
stereo input and output channels at up to 96
kHz
of sample rate in single wire format.
The Dual AES3-S/PDIF I/O module is handy for
easy interfacing to digital outboard equipment
like DAT recorders, CD players and digital effect
boxes.

8
channel AES3 digital I/O:
The
8 channel AES3 I/O module is an 8-channel module
intended for
interfacing all 8 input and output channels
of the ADDA 2408, ADDA 2408-r,
Axion and AX24 according to AES3. The connection
is made via a 25 pin
female D-sub connector, and the pinning can
be set for compliancance to
3 different pin allocation formats.
The AES3 I/O module is able
to interface 4 input and output channels at
176,4 and 192 kHz as
a dual wire format, and 2 input and output channels
at 352,8 and 384 kHz as a quad wire format.
Two AES3 I/O modules can be installed in the
AX24, for a total of 8 176,4 and 192 kHz channels
and 4 352,8 and 384 kHz channels.
See the DAD-IO module description for information
on the supported pin allocations:

8
channel MADI digital I/O (AX24 & Axion only):
The
8 channel MADI module makes it possible to interface
8 channels of the
up-to 64 channels, which is available in a standard
BNC MADI input and output
connector. The MADI module supports input and
output all the PCM rates up-to
192 kHz as well as DSD and DXD. The interface
can be configured to operate
in a daisy chain for connecting more converters
to the same MADI link. The MADI
interface can be set to access any of the up-to
64 MADI channels in any configuration in blocks
of 8
consecutive channels. All "unused"
channels are linked trough the interface with
very low latency of
only a few samples.
