AX24 | 192 PHD is a
dedicated model of the AX24 Converter system
family. AX24 | 192 PHD comes complete
with an interface card connecting directly to
the Avid Pro Tools digital audio workstation
connected via standard DigiLink. Cables to HD
Core or Accel Core cards. Pro Tools recognizes
the AX24 | 192 PHD converter and controls all
input and output functions, clocking, routing
and other settings. One AX24 | 192 PHD can provide
up to 8 channels of analog to digital and digital
to analog conversion. Up to four AX24 | 192
PHD converters can be connected via the DigiLink
expansion port for a total of 32 channels of
analog to digital and digital to analog conversion.
Additional control of the AX24 | 192 PHD e.g.
gain setting of the optional build in mic preamps
is provided via the DADman control applications
which runs on all MAC OSX and Windows platforms.
AX24 | 192 PHD is a truly plug and play system
which provides you with the legendary natural
DAD converter sound for your Pro Tools rig.
AX24 | 192 PHD automatically provides signal
latency identical to that of the AVID 192 I/O™
for accurate delay compensation within ProTools
- no manual delay adjustments are required.
The AX24 | 192 PHD contains one Primary and
one Expansion DigiLink port. AX24 | 192 PHD
supports full channel count at sample rates
up to 192 kHz. You do not lose half of your
channels at higher sample rates. Pro Tools users
can now benefit from the precise internal master
clock of the AX24 converter for very low jitter
and low distortion of digital signals
Mic pre with analog
gain in 3 dB steps and digital gain
with 0.25 dB accuracy is available for AX24
providing a sonically very transparent integrated
Mic pre and ADC design. The Dynamic range is
between 118 & 121 dB and the Mic pre equivalent
noise floor is at -130 dB. AX24 offers an impressive
dynamic range , making it the quietest and most
transparent converter on the market.
Full remote controllable
via USB or Ethernet. AX24 is ideally
suited for stage box applications or machine
room environment, due to the powerfull remote
control. The remote control interface is RS-422
nad can be adapted to USB, Ethernet or other
data formats providing a very flexible control
structure.

PHD models.The following 5 dedicated
models are avaliable.
   8
Line AD and 8 DA analog I/O
   8
Mic/Line AD and 8 DA analog I/O
   8
Line AD analog inputs
   8
Mic/Line AD analog inputs
   8
DA analog outputs
.
The models are limited to the
192 kHz sample rate, and to have only one digital
interface - the DADI/O-PHD module. If more digital
I/O modules are needed like MADI or AES3 or
if the sample rate need to be 384 Khz, the unit
can be license upgraded to a standard AX24.
The DADI/O-PHD module can be
installed in an existing AX24 converter system
unit. Additionally the two internal Firmware
EPROM's of the AX24 basis unit have to be changed
to version 2.20 in order to recognise the card.
The DADman control utilities,
provides various control interfaces for MAC
and PC. This enables the Mic pre controls can
be represented on the channel strip of major
consoles, and various DAW including ProTools
HD
External
synchronisation to AES 11, Word Clock,
Super clock or video (PAL, NTSC, SECAM) . The
built-in PLL circuit is able to correct for
minor variations in the external sync clock
signal, giving a very stable adaptation to the
external synchronisation signal.
Sync alarm.
If a digital output is chosen with the DA source
button, and the digital input for some reason
is out of synchronisation, the red Sync alarm
LED will blink. This function is available to
secure that the whole recording system is synchronised.
The function can be turned off in the system
menu.
