Digital Audio Denmark enters into
OEM agreement with Merging Technologies
Press release,
March 2003.
Copenhagen, Denmark - Digital Audio
Denmark who currently manufacturer a range of high
quality audio converters has entered into a development
and OEM agreement with Swiss company Merging Technologies
to produce a range of cost-effective audio interfaces
for the Pyramix DAW.
Peter Scheelke, Managing Director
of DAD, explains "It's too early to publicly
announce any specific products at this time, but we
have a close eye on the future demands of the audio
industry at all levels. Merging Technologies have
also identified new requirements for the near future
of their own products and our agreement with Merging
will allow us to share the technology that both companies
possess.
Our current range of 2 and 8 channel
converters are totally compatible with the Pyramix
system through either AES/EBU, ADAT and TDIF interface
options, but like Merging, we have also signed up
for Sony Oxford's SuperMAC interface format as well
as Merging's multi-channel MADI interface. This will
give the customer an unprecedented choice of integrating
our converters with other equipment including the
Pyramix system.
Claude Cellier, President of Merging,
"There is a lot of synergy between our two companies
and Merging are not in the business of trying to force
the customer into purchasing only our own converters.
We therefore interface to just about all other 3rd
party converters on the market as well regardless
of sample rate and this is something we wish to continue
to do. DAD is a good company with high quality products
and with our combined talents we should be able to
meet the demands of our customers as the channel I/O
count requirement continues to grow.
Digital Audio Denmark will be showing
their converters on the Merging Technologies stand
at 114th AES in Amsterdam. Hall 8 - Stand number 1604.
