Digital Audio Denmark Launch ADDA
2408-r.
An 8 channel mic preamp and audio converter
Press release,
May 2004.
Digital Audio Denmark (DAD) has launched
ADDA 2408-r, a new remote controlled audio converter
in the ADDA 2408 family. The ADDA 2408-r is ideally
suited for music recording where the converter is
placed near the sound sources e.g. microphones giving
an optimal electrical adaptation to the analog signal.
The ADDA 2408-r is also ideal in a machine room environment.
ADDA 2408-r, is an 8 channel microphone
preamplifier and audio converter with the same high
quality conversion and sonic purity, which has been
recognized for the existing ADDA 2408.
The ADDA 2408-r microphone preamplifier
utilize a unique combined analog and digital design,
enabling adjustable delay time, phase, low cut filter,
and microphone gain from -18dB to + 72 dB. Gain up-to
24 dB is set using relays, thus enabling the optimal
signal-to-noise and THD performance.
ADDA 2408-r, is controlled via the
DADman remote control program for PC via a simple
RS-422 link. By the use of conventional adapters,
the interface can also be USB or RS-232.
The standard sample rates from 44.1
kHz to 96 kHz with a resolution of 24 bit are supported,
using a very precise internal oscillator of 5 PPM
making the ADDA 2408-r well suited also as a reference
studio master clock. External synchronization can
be made via Word Clock, Super Clock, AES11 or VBB.
The retail price is EUR 3.548 + VAT, for a basic unit.
